Lords Reform – Cameron’s right wing shows him who is in charge – and it is not him!

With the Conservatives breaking the Coalition Agreement due to David Cameron’s inability to deliver his troops (and let’s not forget Labour’s ducking a diving on an issue they are supposed to support) Lords reform is dead.

The Tory right never liked democratising the Lords, after all they exist to fight for the rich and privileged but Labour, who have always said they supported Lords reform, have been doing their best to ensure it does not happen.

I remain proud to be a member of a political party that really does want to bring democracy to our upper house at Westminster.

As for the Coalition, it has to continue to deliver economic stability but the Tories have to be taught a lesson and one that hurts, I hope.
