Lunt – Fly Tipping – Will Link Road help? – It seems not.

This is Longdale in Lunt Village that leads into Back Lane - Fly tipping has long been a problem here.

The photo above shows that further ahead (where Back Lane runs into Holgate, Thornton) the road has been blocked off. This has happened due to the Thornton – Switch Island Link Road being built.

These back lanes have long been a problem for fly-tipping and previous postings on this site have detailed this. However, with the access from Thornton now being closed does it mean that the tipping areas will be less accessible for the criminals who are doing it?

Sadly, no it does not as I have seen more tipping myself and have been contacted by Lunt residents about the problem again. In turn I have alerted Sefton Council’s Environment Dept.
