Liverpool Model Railway Show – Old Christ Church, Waterloo

This excellent show seems to come around more quickly every year!

The venue is stunning of course – Old Christ Church is a great re-use of a former building of worship. It has various events going on within it throughout the year and run by a trust.

Now to the show itself; it was packed out when we got there at 11am on Saturday 26th April. I met a couple of old friends – One of the ‘Babes’ from a former quiz team of that name who used to attended the sadly now defunct weekly quizzes at Maghull Town Hall (she was serving tea!) and a friend of the Frank Hornby Trust – a Crosby-based model railway man.

We are lucky to have locally a chap who refurbishes/repairs exhibits for our display cases in Meadows Leisure Centre. Yesterday our good friend was exhibiting his wonderful Hornby ‘O’ Gauge tin plate railway and the photo below shows how popular it is with young and old alike.

Another excellent layout was called Oswaldtwistle Town – again in ‘O’ Gauge. Here is a shot of that:-

Jen and I had a great time; if you missed it this year keep an eye out for it in 2015.
