Andrew Carnegie’s Libraries are magnificent

You can usually spot a Carnegie Library from way off as they are always architecturally very pleasing on the eye. I know of one locally in Crosby at College Road which sadly was closed by Sefton Council not so long ago but have recently come across another one in Walton. The former Walton and Fazakerley Branch Library has also been closed (by Liverpool City Council) but it has been repurposed by the NHS as one of two bases locally for their Life Rooms facility.

The refurb is reasonably tasteful although the windows are too modern in their construction for my liking. The interior is great too although I did not think it appropriate to take photos inside. But the good news is that this wonderful building has a purpose.
