The BBC has the story on its web site – see link above
It may not go as far as it needs to go but it it is certainly a big step in the right direction.
The UK needs to address this issue rather than keep running away from it. Surely it is the most Liberal of all humanitarian causes to allow those with no hope to terminate their own life on their own terms at a time and place of their own choosing.
The Minister of State for Care and Support, Norman Lamb, has backed a change in the law on assisted dying for the terminally ill.
I am impressed by the number of sinners who are repenting over this. Norman says “The individual should be the person who decides, not the state”; not a more true Liberal word spoken.
The BBC carries this most welcome of stories – see link above. Lord Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, should be congratulated for his willingness to change his mind and back this very just cause.
