Well they keep on coming but we have not heard much from our Police & Crime Commissioner about what she and her Merseyside Police Force are doing to get on top of these all too often shootings.

It seems time for some high profile reassurance that Merseyside Police are going top get on top of this appalling march towards an American-type gun culture.

Yet another depressing headline from the Liverpool Echo – see link above

There is every danger that we are accepting that guns on our streets, here on Merseyside, are a fact of life that we simply have to live with. I hope not as that is the road to ruin.

The Liverpool Echo has the story about the latest local/Sefton shooting in Litherland – see link above.

And the shootings go on and on, this time in Hapsford Road Recreational Park in Litherland.

Not so long ago we were being told that Merseyside Police were winning the battle to get guns off our streets but frankly the streets of Sefton don’t seem much safer when things like this are going on in a children’s play area.

This sadly is an issue oft covered on this blog site – oh how I wish it were otherwise.

At face value Merseyside Police seem to be getting on top of the problem but my feeling is there is still a long, long way to go to get guns off the streets of Merseyside.

Well here’s another gun incident in Sefton Borough; they seem so common these days that we could be forgiven for thinking we live in the USA where guns are worshiped by some!
