The Liverpool Echo has the story – see link above
Poor old Bootle it’s one piece of bad news after another recently. First it is to lose over 3,000 Civil Service jobs, then Wetherspoons say they are pulling out of the Merton Pub, then M&S says it is leaving town and now redundancies at Hugh Bard College!
Time for some good news for Bootle please.
I have mentioned the excellent Frank Hornby Pub in Maghull before and we had our election celebration party there a few days ago, as I reported on this blog site, but it is worth saying what a detailed and in depth job Wetherspoon’s have done to turn the former down at heel Everest Pub into a new a significant local land mark celebrating the life and works of Maghull’s world famous toy maker Frank Hornby.
If you go there have a good look around at the photo’s and artwork it is very good indeed. Here are a few shots I took in the Pub recently. With apologies for my shots not being up to Keith Page standards!
