JC did a runner when jobs and young people were being discussed

Well here we have the proof that Jeremy Corbyn is really not up for fighting our Bluekip Government’s crazy Brexit.

When a cross-party Leaders meeting was set up to discuss how to protect jobs and the opportunities of young people because of the devastating consequences of Brexit he was not there, indeed he refused to attend!

The empty chair was between Lib Dem Leader Vince Cable and Green Co-Leader Caroline Lucas.

The SNP were there and so were Plaid Cymru, so that’s all the supposed progressive political parties represented in the House of Commons except Labour! And also supposedly, 80% of Labour members oppose Brexit probably because they know it will make the poor poorer, reduce opportunities for young people, put up the cost of living and put jobs at risk. But hey JC’s not on that agenda!

January – Loss of my dear friend ‘Uncle Albert’:-

February – Not being the Tory Party:-

March – Developing land north of Maghull’s Turnbridge Road

April – Maghull’s parks, their maintenance and money

May – Buying the Strand Shopping Centre in secretive deal

June – Bugger Moderation!

July – Youth Coffee Bar gone, CAB gone – Labour’s regressive policies!

August – Those who take land out of Green Belt then protest about its development!

September – Rimrose Valley Country Park and the Sefton Council’s part in it’s demise

October – Police move into Maghull TH but at what a cost!

November – Ex Southport MP John Pugh wins Sefton Council seat by an electoral landslide

December – Maghull North Station progress

So another year comes to a close. Not a good one, indeed another poor one as the UK slips further into the Brexit mire or is that jumps over the Brexit cliff? Either way no good will come of it but a lot of bad most certainly will.

Personally I lost more good friends in 2017 which is always sad yet in looking back at my posting about ‘Uncle Albert’ I can only feel that whilst I lost him I gained so much from knowing him.

As for 2018 the omens are not good and they will remain poor so long as Jeremy Corbyn remains wedded to Teresa May’s Brexit.

Labour and its pro-Brexit (Tory opposing/supporting) stance

The Guardian has the story on its web site – see link above

Frankly I’m not surprised by this poll, Labour’s positioning on this most crucial of matters is not one that a supposedly progressive party should be taking and their more enlightened supporters know it.

I know many decent Labour Party members who are keeping their heads down hoping that JC/Momentum will come to their senses on stop backing Teresa May’s mad Brexit.

I also appreciate that within the Labour Party loyalty to the party is absolute so that’s why few will challenge the ruling JC/Momentum sect’s view of things in public. But surely something has to give within Labour as Brexit will destroy the prospects of the very young people that Momentum is harvesting as its core supporters.

This quote from the article is illuminating:- ‘The poll also found many Labour voters have opposing perceptions about the party’s current stance on Brexit. It found 32% of Labour remain voters believe Labour is “completely against Brexit” and a further 31% of Labour leave voters believe Labour is “completely in favour of Brexit”.

This can only surely be explained away by the fact that Labour attacks the Government over Brexit by word but backs it by deed in House of Commons votes.

Jeremy Corbyn – A man for the working people? Now just hang on a minute!

I listened to media coverage of Jeremy’s first election speech today and he said what I would have expected of him as a socialist Leader of the chaotic Labour Party.

But hang on a minute whilst he was saying that he would be the political leader of ordinary working people (if electors gave him the top job in Downing Street) one glaring issue contradicts the vision he was putting forward – there could well of course be others but the big one for me is this.

When he whipped his Labour MP’s to support a Hard Brexit and vote with Teresa May’s hard-line right wing Government he actually voted to make life much harder for ordinary folk. Yes, many of this working class supporters may have voted for Brexit but he knows how much they were lied to and that many of them are now wishing they had not voted the way they did.

Brexit is a plan by the rich and powerful to gain more power and more influence over us all so what on earth is a supposedly socialist leader doing backing it?

Sorry Jeremy, you can’t back ordinary folk via political rhetoric having already and very recently voted for a process from which they can only be the losers.

Brexit – It seems to be going horribly wrong – Mayday will be Teresa’s call soon enough

The Guardian has the story on its web site – see link above

Well despite Teresa May’s happy clapping things are not going at all well and it now seems almost certain that the UK will be in a far worse trading, business and economic situation than we are under the present conditions. Nice going Brexiters it really is Brexit at any cost!”

And with Labour meekly in step with this appalling right wing government of ours the prospects for the UK are looking grim indeed.

Time we all started to buy hand carts as we are surely going to economic and trading hell in one.

Thank goodness that Tim Farron is talking sense over Brexit as the two major parties have quite lost their heads.

Brexit – May’s living in a fantasy land – ‘More United’ Kingdom indeed!

The BBC has the story on its web site – see link above

Well if anyone could trump Keir Starmer’s bizarre Brexit demands (after Labour had walked through the Hard Brexit lobby with our appalling right wing Tory Government) then maybe the Prime Minister was the one to give it her best shot.

And give it a shot she did to an audience of civil servants who have to do what the government of the day tells them to do!

So who is the most out of touch Keir or Teresa? Well it’s pretty much a dead heat in my view as they are both seemingly doing one thing and saying another. Keir’s Labour keep on voting for a Hard Brexit but then say they want to demand certain conditions. Now just run that one past me again, Labour votes for everything the Tory Government wants, then it demands things that they have just voted not to support – well done Jeremy’s Labour, that’s one hell of a ridiculous position to hold. But hang on Teresa wants to beat that ridiculous position by having one just as barmy herself, or possibly even more so! How about pushing for the hardest Brexit possible, that virtually guarantees a disUnited Kingdom, then make a speech saying she wants to lead a ‘more united’ Kingdom.

You could not make this ludicrous nonsense up if you tried but here we have the two major political parties in the UK peddling utter nonsense as though it is normal political behaviour. Well maybe it is if you’re a Tory/Kipper/Labour supporter but its off the wall madness to me.
