If you, like me, despair at the march of privatisation though our public services (and lets face it all 3 main parties have have had a hand in it) then this report makes sobering if somewhat unsurprising reading.
With thanks to Roy Connell for the lead to this posting

This is a worrying process. At one end the potential to put parks and open spaces in the hands of those who simply want to exploit them for private/commercial gain must surely be met with a big ‘NO’. But alternatives such as spaces being run by community groups, co-operatives and mutual organisations has its appeal to an old Liberal like me because it could be, if handled well, a decentralisation process putting the management of such facilities in the hands of the communities which use them.
At present this process is potentially both a threat and an opportunity; I hope that Liverpool City Council does not allow it become former!

Seems that Labour still has a significant Blairite following despite Corbyn’s socialist agenda. But what is this all about as it looks to me like mass privatisation and by a Labour-run council too!
Quote from the article – ‘Lives torn apart and assets lost: this is what a Labour privatisation would mean’

Here we go again with parts of the NHS being privatised this time unsurprisingly under a Tory Government. This process started in earnest under the last Labour Government and if memory serves Andy Burnham had a hand in it back then did he not?
Do politicians not understand that we don’t want our NHS in private hands for private profit!
