Worryingly, there is every danger that we will start to see gun crime incidents as normal every day events as the media relentlessly churn them out. Normalising may creep up on us when we should be treating each event as totally unacceptable in a civilised society.

Here we go again, yet more shootings on Merseyside this time in Sefton Borough. Is it just me or are we fast losing a semblance of being able to control guns on our streets as these incidents are now an almost daily occurrence?

Worrying times indeed.

Well they keep on coming but we have not heard much from our Police & Crime Commissioner about what she and her Merseyside Police Force are doing to get on top of these all too often shootings.

It seems time for some high profile reassurance that Merseyside Police are going top get on top of this appalling march towards an American-type gun culture.

Just how many illegal guns are in circulation locally? Are Merseyside Police going to be able to get on top of these all too regular shootings? What is our Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner doing to combat gun crime?
