Eurostar – Not to be read by Europe hating Kippers or Tories

I picked up this article (see link above) on the BBC web site and found it interesting and not just because I am a railway enthusiast I might add.

If half the Tory party and the Kippers have their way the tunnel will be filled in as they desperately try to isolate us all from our European neighbours. But if they don’t succeed in their quest, and I certainly hope they don’t, when will the railway journeys from the UK reach the parts of Europe they presently do not?

And by the way do you remember the original plan to have passenger trains running through the tunnel from the regions of the UK rather than just from London? Well there were such plans so it’s not just extra journey possibilities within Europe that are required.
